Wiley High School is looking into the possible transition from 8-man football to 6-man football. The move is being considered due to a number of factors, including high school enrollment numbers and a shortage of players. The CHSAA bylaws outline a high school enrollment of 1-72 students for 6-player football and 74-171 students for 8-player football. Wiley high school has 58 students (total, boys and girls) and this is the expected number for next year and the following year as well based on current enrollment. Wiley is hoping a change to 6-player football will help the team remain competitive and safe in the upcoming seasons. The transition would take place for the next CHSAA Cycle, starting in the 2024-2025 seasons. With this information, Wiley would love to hear from the community on this matter. Wiley will be hosting a community meeting at 6:00 PM on Thursday November 9th in the Wiley School Cafeteria. Please join us to share your thoughts.
Thank you,
Mr. Adame

A few information pieces for this upcoming Basketball Season! We will be charging for our JH events this year, to help offset some of the cost for officials. Thank you all for cooperating to help keep our gym in the best possible condition.
GO PANTHERS!

Secondary Students and Parents - Here is what is happening around Wiley Junior/Senior High. We are excited that JH basketball is getting underway. As we move into the holiday season, please make sure you are checking dates for breaks. It is hard to believe we are already planning for the holidays.
Have a great weekend,
Ms. Larrick

Elementary Parents:
As stated in the Elementary Handbook, October 31st is the final day that students are allowed to wear shorts until April. Please make sure that your child is not wearing shorts to school from this point forward.
Also, with the temperatures turning cold, please make sure that you child is wearing appropriate clothing such as a coat, a hat, and gloves. Students will be going outside for recess as frequently as possible, so making sure they have the appropriate clothing to stay warm is essential.
Please call the school with any questions or concerns. 719-829-4806

HUGE congratulations goes out to Rachel Kopasz and Johanna Brown on being inducted into Lamar Community College Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society this evening for their academic excellence. Great job, girls!!

Elementary Halloween Costume Parade:
Can you believe that Halloween is already tomorrow! The elementary will be holding their annual Halloween Costume Parade. The parade begins at 3:15 pm on October 31st. Parents please meet in the gym. Students will parade around the perimeter of the court to allow parents to take pictures. I would like to remind students and parents that costumes/outfits worn to school for the parade must be school appropriate. Costumes/outfits will only be worn during the parade and not the entire day. If you are unsure if a costume/outfit is school appropriate, please do not hesitate calling and asking. Once the parade is finished, students will return to their classrooms for individual parties.

Wiley community! The Butcher shop is hosting, with the support of the Lions, a Treat Street on Halloween (Tuesday Oct. 31st) starting at 5:30pm until the candy runs out! Stop by for a safe and warm opportunity to Trick or Treat!!!

Elementary Parents:
Your child(s) Quarter 1 Report Card should have been sent home with them yesterday. Please make sure that you review them and if you have any questions please do not hesitate reaching out to their teacher. By signing in to your parent Alma account, you should be able to access a digital copy of the report card there as well.
Last night the elementary students performed a wonderful Fall Concert. Miss Carty and the students put in several hours of practice to make this performance run smoothly. I hope you enjoyed the performance as much as I did. I am very proud of each and everyone of the students. If you were unable to attend and would like to watch the performance, please use the following link.
