LATE START-TUESDAY, JANUARY 16, 2024. Due to extremely cold temperatures, Wiley School District will be on a late start for Tuesday January 16, 2024. Buses will run their normal routes on the delay. Be sure your student is dressed appropriately for the predicted temperatures. Stay safe and warm everyone.

THANK YOU!
School board members are ordinary people who demonstrate extraordinary dedication to our public schools. January marks School Board Recognition Month and is the perfect time we thank our school board members for their untiring efforts. Thank you Tandy Bitner (incoming Board Member), Jenna Davis, Dave Esgar (outgoing Board Member), Brad Lubbers, Neil Mauch, and Josh Weimer.
This month we take a moment to recognize the value of their work to our students and our communities. This is a time to show our appreciation and to begin to better understand how school board members work together to provide leadership for our schools.
The school board works closely with parents, education professionals and community members to create the educational vision we want for our students. In January, join with others from throughout our district and state to salute the board members who provide grassroots governance of public schools. Make a special effort to tell each school board member his or her hard work has been noticed and is very much appreciated.

Due to extremely cold temperatures, Wiley School District will be on a late start for Monday, January 15, 2024. Buses will run their normal routes on the delay. Make sure that students are dressed appropriately for the predicted temperatures.

We have another week that is busy! Please make sure you get the Landyn Stronger Benefit on your calendar and come out and help support an amazing kiddo and his family. All times are on our district calendar at www.wileyschool.org .

SCHOOL BUS STOP REMINDERS! Help us keep our Wiley Students Safe!!
STUDENTS- When entering/exiting the school bus, please make sure not to walk directly in front of the bus. Be sure to look both directions when passing through lines of parked vehicles and walk straight to your vehicle and quickly get in to ensure vehicles are able to leave the area in a timely manner.
PARENTS- It is the law that vehicles stay unmoving (parked) while the red flashing lights on the top of the bus and stop sign are in operation. Those lights are required to stay in operation until the bus driver sees all students have arrived to their designated vehicles. When all students are safely at their vehicles the bus drive will torn off the flashing red lights and retract the stop sign freeing drivers to leave the bus stop.
TIPS--1. Yellow flashing lights mean the bus is preparing to stop and load or unload students. Motorists need to slow down and prepare to stop. 2. Red flashing lights and extended stop arm mean the bus has stopped and students are boarding or exiting the bus. Motorists must come to a complete stop a safe distance from the bus and remain stationary until the red lights stop flashing and the stop arm is retracted. Thanks everyone!
